Continuing to add glazes to darken the background and develop new foliage and branches, I reevaluate and decide the bottom right corner needs to have a darker value. The vivid violet is pretty but distracting, and showing only in this one location. A color should be found in 3 locations in a painting, especially when incorporating an accent color. I also find the big blue leaf at the intersection of the main branches distracting -- it needs to be darkened. And of course, the lighter leaves at the center of interest need details added. The kitten is sleeping -- time to do a little painting.
